The poster guy is a mascot of sorts used to show various feelings and ideas. He is most often seen reacting to news stories, but is also featured on a set of Emotion Flashcards, presumably originally intended for aliens to learn what human emotions look like. His usage suggests that he is a mascot for the entire human race. Most of his appearances show unhappiness or depression, like the poster of "You gotta do what you gotta do".

Trivia
- The Poster Guy appears to have five fingers, not four, like other Humans in the Futurama universe, though in the Animatic of 1ACV01, he appears with only four fingers. He also was given four fingers in "A Head in the Polls".
